2.2.2. Connect to cStors

  1. Go to Configure > cStors.

  2. Click Add cStor.

  3. To add a cStor with Auth Type: User Login follow step 3a. To add a cStor with Auth Type: OAuth follow step 3b.

    Note

      2. On the cStor device, go to Administration > Auth > API Clients and review the pending access request from cClear.

The cStor must approve the request before it can connect to cClear. If the request is not approved, the cStor status remains Not Connected.

      3. Select a group and confirm the request to approve the client.

      4. Verify that the cStor connection in cClear is established.

  4. After adding cStors, cClear displays a table of connected cStor devices. The table shows the cStor software version, traffic rate, and storage time elapsed. From this page, you can update, modify, or remove cStor devices.

Once devices are added, cClear confirms time synchronization status across devices and lets you manage synchronization from cClear.

cStor metrics collection

After cStors are connected, cClear displays them in a table on the cStors page. The Metrics column controls whether cClear collects port statistics from each cStor.

Metrics collection is disabled by default. You can leave it disabled if you want to reduce management traffic or if you do not plan to view cStor health metrics. When metrics are enabled for a cStor, cClear collects port statistics from the device and makes them available in cClear dashboards. On the Observability page, the cStors panel displays throughput only for cStors with metrics enabled.

To enable metrics collection, set the Metrics toggle to On for the cStor.

Metrics collection is not supported on cStor10 devices. For these devices, the Metrics toggle is disabled.

Important

Enabling or disabling cStor metrics affects only cStor device health metrics. It does not affect analytics data collected by Network Monitors.

For details about cStor port counters, see the Metrics section in the cStor S User Guide.
